Good morning! I was thoroughly touched by everyones’ responses to my downer post last night. I was hesitant to say anything about it, but I’m glad I did because all the comments seriously made my night!
I’m actually feeling much better this morning, but I’ll get to that in a minute. First, I have to confess something to you. Two somethings actually.
1. I did not go to the gym last night, as I reported I would.
2. I ate ice cream for dinner.
I feel it is best that I just come clean, and detail how such a scandalous evening came to occur.
Well, upon leaving work yesterday I realized that, miracle of miracles, the sun was shining! So I quickly texted the roommate to see if she wanted to partake in some outdoor exercise with me.
She responded that she’d left her jacket and wallet over at my sister-in-laws and that she was going to go get it and go to Orange Tree, and did I want to go? “What is orange tree?” I ask.

“An ice cream place,” she said (although that did not do the establishment justice). I had to pause to consider this? Was going to get ice cream worth skipping the gym for? Especially considering that I’d only worked out once this week, it was a tough call. But then I thought, was I not just complaining on the blog about how I’m going to be bored all weekend? Why yes, yes I was. So why not go on this outing, and work out over the weekend? And with that, it was settled.
Orange Tree is actually a self-serve frozen yogurt place, where your cup of ice cream is weighed, kind of like a Whole Foods salad.

There are many flavors to choose from, such as pineapple, mango, pomegranate, coffee, vanilla, etc.

The roommate was pretty excited about it! Of all the flavors, I knew exactly which ones I was interested in.

I got a little bit of each flavor, but I was intending to actually eat dinner later so I didn’t get nearly enough.

These flavors were both amazing, but I wish the peanut butter had tasted a bit more peanut buttery. Don’t worry, I remedied that situation.

What you see there is a sampling of peanut butter chips, cookie dough bits, two brownie crumbles, and a peanut butter cup. Go hard or go home! Actually, it was a very small amount, it was just a little over $1.
The roommate went more of a fruity route with her froyo.

She got pineapple with fruit and worms. I tasted the pineapple froyo and it was good too, but I liked mine better
After getting our treats, we headed over to my sister-in-law’s house where we were promtly greeted with a glass of wine and some old pictures to look at.

I don’t think she would really enjoy that picture, but it was the only one I had
So I sipped my wine and we laughed over the pictures for a while before heading home to watch Grey’s Anatomy.
However, upon returning home I realized that the mixture of sugar + wine had left me with a headache/stomach ache. I could have forced myself to eat something, and it may have actually made me feel better. But it was already 8:30 and I just didn’t have the energy. I did eat some grapes later on.

So that is the story of how I ate ice cream for dinner. I don’t promise it won’t happen again, but I do promise not to make a habit out of it.
Anyways, like I said up there ^^ I’m in a pretty jolly mood today! Here’s why:
- There is nothing to stop me from working out this evening.
- Ugly Betty premiers tonight! Love that show.
- I’m making a fun, easy dinner.
- I’m also making my mom’s corn chowder…
- to take over to my brother and SIL’s tomorrow where I’ll be watching the game.
- My mom got me a gift certificate for a massage and pedicure, which I’ll be cashing in on Sunday!
Might not be the most riveting weekend to most people – but to me, working out, cooking, watching football and getting pampered is about as good as it gets! Now I just have to make it through work today and the fun can begin:D
What are your plans this weekend?

Hey dear. I am just catching up, I am UBBER behind on blog reading.
In terms of your post from last night. I have a hard time letting people in as well and have thought about needing to make more friends as well
. Sounds like we need to hang out!
And ice cream for dinner is totally okay. Tuesday after the Petrie incident I had way too much sugary food AND skipped the gym. Sometimes you just need those days.
Have a fabulous Friday!
